Our Mission
In line with the United Methodist Church's mission "to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world," the mission of Ardmore UMC is to:
Connect to God, one another, and the world.
Lay Servant-Leaders and the Church Council
The laity (members of the church who are not pastors) are vital to the function of the church's ministries.
The Church Council is the body made up of all lay servant-leaders that meets to
"provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the local church. It also provides for the administration of its organization and temporal life. It envisions, plans, implements, and annually evaluates the mission and ministry of the church."
Book of Discipline: ¶252. The Church Council
All Church Council meetings are open, meaning anyone can attend to observe, though only members of the council have voice and vote (Book of Discipline: ¶722).
See our Church Calendar for when the Church Council will meet next.
